Bio

Matthew Aarons was born in St.Anns Bay Jamaica to parents Howard and Violet Aarons.  Matthew grew up in a Christian home, and attended a United Pentecostal Church where he was dedicated. Music became a part of Matthews Life at a very young age. By the age of 5 he started to develop a love for the drums. He began playing drums at his local church, where his gift for music blossomed. He also sang in the children’s choir and led some songs for the choir.

            Matthew and his family migrated to the United States at the age of fourteen. They migrated to Clifton New Jersey.   At the age of fourteen he grew to love the piano, and later started to learn to play the piano on his own.  Matthew and his family later moved to Palm Beach County where he attended Santaluces High school. At Santaluces high he joined the marching band where he learned to read music and was a part of the drumline.

            Matthew graduated Santaluces High School in 2006. His father shortly became pastor of Pentecostal Tabernacle of West Palm Beach. Matthew became music director at the age of 19 for his dads church.  He taught the choir and praise team rehearsal where he got the exposure and experience learning vocal harmony and music theory. Matthew Attended Palm Beach State College where he was a part of jazz band, and jazz combo. Here he learned the fundamentals and the basic music theory behind jazz composers Like Bud Powell, Art Tatum, Oscar Peterson, and Thelonius Monk.
